  ‘How on earth did we produce such a bossy child? ‘ Dante laughed.

  ‘It’s got to come from your side.’ Anna grinned. ‘I was the personification of sweetness and light, growing up.’

  His eyes narrowing, Dante tipped his head to the side, pretending to be doubtful. ‘You sure about that, innamorata? Only I definitely recall one or two memorable occasions when the ability to be bossy seemed to come very naturally to you.’

  ‘I’ll make sure you pay for that remark later,’ she whispered, her mouth trembling with humour as Dante once again pulled her towards him.

  Hefting a noisy sigh, Tia turned round to the guests gathered at the base of the steps, in her ivory-coloured bridesmaid dress and pretty crown of delicate flowers, and threw up her hands. ‘Everybody hurry up and go inside the church—before they kiss again!’
